Details
This utility has taken at least a thousand hours over the last ten years to
develop and test. There are 11,282 lines of code in version 2.11 which have either been
painstakingly hand crafted or code I've cunningly copied from the Internet. I
have no idea how many hours I've spent in responding to emails and newsgroup
questions other than there are at least a thousand emails in my Auto FE Updater
email folder.
Licensing of the current set of features is voluntary.
If you like the Auto FE Updater and feel it saves you time and errors please ask
your employer to purchase a license. The cost is $175 for the first production server on which
the Auto FE Updater utility (StartMDB.exe) program is placed. $100 on each
of the subsequent servers in your organization . This utility is
licensed for developer workstations while testing. Terminal Server
or Citrix systems executing the Auto FE Updater from another file
server do not require additional licensing. In other words the license qualifies the Auto FE Updater
utility to live on the number of servers for which you've purchased licensing.
I don't care how many apps, users,
or work environments are served from the server(s).
Email me at
with your corporation name and address and the number of servers. I will
email you a license number along with an invoice in a PDF file. The
license number will allow you to download an encrypted license file so you can
immediately see your organization name in the forms in the utility
Method of payment
You can either
snail mail me a cheque or use PayPal or a credit card, such as Visa, MasterCard
or American Express via PayPal. If your native currency is not in US dollars then a roughly
approximate amount in your local currency is just fine If you
want to use PayPal I will send you a request for payment along with the invoice
PDF file.
Thirty Day Reminder
Every thirty days or so you, the developer, will get a reminder screen asking
your organization to purchase a license. The users will never
see this reminder. One of the reasons I added the reminder is I know what
I'm like. I have the best of intentions and sometimes I need a nudge.
